Gill Naylor

I was born and brought up on the North West coast of England. The things that stand out most in my memory about my childhood are walking out to the sea and playing amongst the sand dunes. I now live in Cheshire with my husband and two sons and miss the sound of the sea and the smell of salt in the air. I took an honours degree in Physics and Mathematics at Stirling University and now work part-time as a safety engineer.

I have always been passionate about painting, but in the last 15 years I have been drawn towards wildlife subjects. I complete around 15 paintings a year and exhibit regularly in the North West of England. Most of my paintings are completed from a combination of sketches made on location supplemented by photographs. I work in gouache, oil, water colour and pastel with a decided preference towards gouache.
