Descr: A scene depicting the historic town of Christchurch in Dorset, on a day when the hustle and bustle of modern life was contrasted by the sight of a woman leading her horse from Whitehall into Church Lane whilst a small dog sat in the road watching. The Red House Museum can be seen on the corner of Quay Road, which runs alongside the 10th Century Priory Church and leads to the nearby boat quay on the River Stour.
