Joan Fielden

I have always had an interest in drawing and painting.

After leaving school in Cheshire, I trained as a draughtswoman in electrical engineering! Not quite an artistic job but I was able to hone my skills in producing neat drawings.

While bringing up two boys I started painting in my 'spare' time. Attending evening classes, local art societies and demonstrations by well-known artists all helped in my development as an artist. An interest in pastels and acrylics came from this time. A family interest in the countryside, birds and animals led to paintings of these subjects.

In 1992, I won the "Prize for the Best Miniature", at the Society of Miniaturists Summer Exhibition.

Previously, I won the "Prize for the Best Pastel", three times at the Cheshire Artists Exhibition.

Most of my paintings are acrylic, but I also paint in oils and pastels.

I paint landscapes, seascapes, churches, wildlife and pets, and abstracts.

I enjoy a challenge, and have completed many interesting commissions for satisfied customers. Commissions are welcomed.

I have a large collection of prints, of landscapes, seascapes, churches, wildlife, pets and abstracts.

My paintings and prints are sold in outlets in Shropshire and the surrounding area. I have also sold my work world wide through Galleries, and recently via the Internet.

At present I live in Wellington, Shropshire, where I run Pastelwood Studio with my husband Alan.

A framing service is available for UK customers.
