Am I walking into eternity...?

Giclee.

Am I walking into eternity along Sandymount Strand...?

This giclee A/P is from an original watercolour painting and is my interpretation of this expression of James Joyce's (1882-1941) as spoken by Stephen Dedalus as he walks on his way from Dalkey towards Dublin in the novel, "Ulysses".

Sandymount Strand is tidal and when the tide goes out very far and one does not look to left or right one gets the feeling of total isolation with only the sky meeting the horizon in the far distance.

In 1904 this whole area was quite bleak and appeared to go on for ever.

This is a limited edition of 25 Artist Proofs (A/P) giclee prints of the original painting, each signed and numbered by the artist and sent rolled and ready for framing.

Giclee #1 made EUR 500.00 at a public auction at the RHA Gallery, Dublin to raise funds for victims of the recent (2005) tsunami disaster in Asia.
